Suburbia Melting - It'sTime [Dumpster Score Home Recordings - 2006]It’s Time is a ever shifting noise and drone scape of sound. The textures and depth of sound are impressive even with in one track, let along album wide. we go from very tensed curls and singers of noise craft, to more streached noise ambient drone stactures, even moving towards more divined melodic material on a few tracks. It's all the work of one Andrew Quitter, who here appears to be using guitar and synth as the main producer of sound with some support from various peddles and electronics. All making very much his own rich and vaired noise/ drone world. I guess closet comparisons would be something like Yellow swans, with their similar rich use of guitar and synth to create deep and enveloping clouds of psychedelic noise. In all the 47 minute cdr is made up of five tracks first two clocking in towards 15 minutes a piece the remaining 3 around the 6 minute mark. From track to track you can really hear a lot of thought has gone into making each track its own trip into detailed kaleidoscopic sound journey. A few stand out moments for me would be; Textures of Dread Pinky Dread with its many layered and swirling sinister vibe, been both brutal and grimly atmospheric, the track also incorporates vocal and dialogue sounds to an interesting and dense effect. And the title track, which conjures up the feeling of strange macabre and triumphant awakening, with it’s slow cascading waves of noisy drone rich in creepy melodic matter. It feels like enchanted dark waves rippling out of your stereo speakers. The Cdr is packed in a DVD style cover- with basic slip shelve. Really this dissevers a full pressing so it can be appreciated by a wider audience, other than the noise underground. Of interest to everyone who has a tast for modern psychedelic noise/ drone music.
