CoffinBirth - Seeping With in the Flesh [Witch House Records - 0000]

Seeping within the flesh takes us into a horrific and suffocating audio environment, built around a mix of noise, sour ambience and audio fear. The more you play it the more disturbing it seems to get, your mind uncovering more disturbing audio debris, like grey limbs falling from overhead cardboards, or lifeless and eyeless heads bobbing to the top of stagnant water.

This is grimy and rough audio discharge with out subtle or lightness to behold, it drifts from one bleak and tortured soundworld to another. Sometimes barren acoustic guitars or melodic traces appear, but from the outset the life is  near snuffed out by the ugly tones that dominate here, like slowly smothering someone with a yellowed pillow. The sounds seem to been manly created by warped and abused environmental recordings, screams, odd dialogue, distorted/soured guitar tones, and mudded and drowned synth abuse. The whole album seems cloaked in this deeply unpleasant and stale air.

A few particular unpleasant and gruelling moments come in the form of: When Times are unchanged and left to wither and die, which melds together feedback scar tissue and demented /bloody string pluck merry go round. With very disturbing dialogue detailing some bizarre act halfway between sex and death, leaving the listeners brain swimming with the dialogues exit line “don’t kill me, I’m going to come”. Winds of the Abyss Prt2 ( When heaven started to rot) drags in a low down death rattle like drone that is pulled, and streached into noisy shapes by twitching bloody fingers. Almost like opening the door to the end of murderous & wet rampage, the killer panting on top of his victims remains, as you vomite in the Connor. By the end of the album you truly feel dirty and soiled.  Your head still churning sometime after with its grey dead flesh like landscapes.

As you can see this is deeply disturbing and maggot crawling soundworld, that has to approached with great caution. If you wish to step over the threshold and into Coffinbirth decaying and demented world use this direct door.
