Jarrod Fowler - Now that's what i call noise vol 13 [Larks Council of England - 2008]

This on first few plays through  seems like nine four minute tracks of searing, brain melting wall noise but the more you play it the more elements, detail and texture surface and flit over the contistent walls of noise.

The nine tracks here are built from playing several UK noise/ sound artist Jliat tracks at the same time and it seems some balancing/remixing going on too. Through out the tracks you get all manner of sounds appear from out of the constant eye of the storm, there’s all manner of billowing, shorting, tearing, static down pours, whistlers, shrieks, electro tearing and shortings. There are also semi harmonic and harmonic traces here and there darting and sliding through the roar. The silences  between the tracks working as often jarring and effective compositions tools in there own right too, though sometimes they can come a bit to soon as your mind it’s following a sonic theme through the boiling wreckage to suddenly be cut off.

Violent, dense and searing this is only going to appeal to those who already have some grounding in Wall noise type work. This is unforgiving and tireless in it wall of sound, but Over time shows up many rewarding and creative sonic twists ‘n’ turns.
