Black Leather Jesus - Yes, Sir (Filth Play) [Mask Of Slave Records - 2009]Yes, Sir(Filth Play) is a sleazy, perverse & often fast moving meeting of extreme noise, Fierce, old school & grimy industrial touches & all out wall noise attacks. All to make a very searing, crusty & depraved sonic attack on the senses. This is the 90th release by this long running & respected Texas based project that have being trawling their perverse & distinct brand of gay S&M tinged noise matter since the early 1990’s; with a fairly active & revolving list of members & sonic participants with the main constant & forming member being Richard Ramirez( of Werewolf Jerusalem, An Innocent Young Throat-Cutter, Vice Wears Black Hose & many other projects). For this release Ramirez is joined by Sean Matzus (of Last Rape In The Land Of Archers, Priest In Shit & The Secret Geography), Vance Osborne(of In The Land Of Archers, Priest In Shit & Sevastopol Is Covered In Sewage), Scott Houston( of Coathanger Abortion, Gun Kick, My Blood, Occupied Riot Station & Threshold Of Sleep) Kevin Novak(T.E.F) & Jovan Hernandez(Anatomy Of A Blackout & ze'rØ-sum) The album comes in with around 35 minutes worth of sleazy bound noise matter with the four tracks falling between just over two minute mark to just off the fifteen minute mark. And sonically we going from the perversely active & searing grating noise pulse to roaring tonal bombardments & overload industrial attack of the opening track ‘That Physical Desire’ which has this rather neat & overloaded noise bound take on a slide guitar sound which keeps popping up from the mayhem. Onto the crusty slow juddering & quite atmospheric perverse HNW meets sleazy & soured ambient drain of the final & longest track ‘Forced into Sin’. The other two tracks sort of fall between more active & shifting noise attack & walls of grainy semen & blood splatter noise grain & jitter. As with most Black Leather Jesus releases the cover artwork is full of male bondage pictures which of course nicely adds to the perverse often swirl & jet black sonics inside. Certainly of interesting to anyone who’s already a fan of Mr Ramirez other projects & works, but this will also appeal to anyone who digs more active(for the most part) sleazy lined extreme noise with an undercurrent of crusty old school industrial tone & grain.
