Bördel Noïr - Self Titled [Spider Tapes - 2010]This self titled c110 tape offers up two very lengthy slices of grim, hick and very hypotonic HNW from this mysterious, skull and crypt obsessed project from the west of France. Both sides of this tape are extremely moorish and addictive examples of thick, dark and subtle shifting wall-making, each time I’ve come to play this I’ve landed up sitting through both sides in one sitting- I truly cant seem to pull my self away from either of theses ‘walls’ once I pressed the play button. Going from the tapes sleeve Side ones track appears to be entitled “Vägïn Pöurrï”, and this finds Bördel Noïr churning out a mid-pace and revolving judder ‘ n’ slight crusty jittering like ‘wall’, that seems like it’s circling endless down and down like the steps to a extreme deep, dank and cobweb weaved subterranean crypt. The ‘wall’ just seems to keep feeding back into it’s self and getting more and more entrancing as the minutes tick by. Truly it’s a great slice of no nonsense ‘wallmaking’ that wraps you up in a wonderful grim yet appealing place far away from the rest of the world. Side twos track is entitled “Bruït Mört” and it’s a mixture of deep rolling rumble ‘n’ tear, and a faster paced static jittering that weaves it’s way in and out of the rumble like active grey corpse worms trying to escapes from un-covered rotting body. Again like the first sides track this tracks highly addictive in it’s interlocking and subtle shifting layers of noise texture, and you find your brain so easily locking into the simply, but highly addictive patterns that just pull you deeper and deeper into the seared ‘wall’ of grim yet enchanting texture. This self titled tape offers up some of the most thick, addictive and captivating harsh noise wall matter your likely to heard this year- trust me we get a lot of HNW passing into M[M] towers- so I know what I’m talking about!. The tapes near on two hours running time just seems to literal whizz by as you seemingly get sucked in deeper and deeper into the sound- really a must have item even if you only have a passing love for all thing s‘wall’ like.
