Bördel Noïr - Notre- Dame De Bonne Mort [Toxic Industrials - 2010]“Notre- Dame De Bonne Mort” offers up three twenty five minute plus tracks of thick, grim, oppressive yet hypnotic Wall-making from this mysterious skull, crypt and graveyard obsessed project from western France. The first untitled track comes in at just over the twenty six minute mark, and it’s a dense ‘n’ crusty mixture of mid-pace juddering noise tones, which seems to feed back into themselves to create this endless descending wall of grimness. I guess rather fittingly the track brings to mind walking down a stuffy and decay rich stone spiral staircase down and down to the deepest ‘n’ dankest underground crypts. The second untitled track is the longest here at just shy over the twenty eight minute mark. This track is a bit more lo-fi & filthy in it’s feel with it starting out with this sewage pipe like juddering ‘n’ spurting mix of textures. At first the track has an quite nasty Vomir feel about it, but as the track progresses it becomes a bit more manic judder ‘n’ jitter static bound- yet it still remains very firm and unforgiving in it’s bleak and unrelenting structure. Lastly we have the third untitled track which comes in at just shy of the twenty five minute mark. This track is built around two grades of raging, billowing and roasting noise tones- it has very grim feeling of painful death pervading it. To me it rather brought to mind what it might sound like in a concentration camp death oven as people slowly cook, boil and drip away. A very nasty and deeply grim wall indeed. So this release offers up of three very different yet equally nasty and bleak walls, yet another very rewarding yet extremely nasty release from this project- truly this project is one of the grim highlights of the european HNW scene!.
