Horacio Pollard - Acorn Bath [Twilight Luggage - 2010]Horacio Pollard is a noise artist with his sophomore (I think) release on Twilight Luggage. The cover looks like it's hand drawn and xeroxed, not to mention it looks a bit sappy. So I didn't have a clue on what was going to be the content of this release, but I did notice the first track reminded me of Smell and Quim, which is a good start. There did seem to be some runaway drums on that first track also. The third track "Sured Ice" has what sounds like some old synth or modular electronics going round with some casiotone drone in the background. The title track would have nothing to do with the cute little squirrel on the cover, as it's a monolithic, apocalyptic earthquake-blast lasting 14 minutes. The big finale, "Naked Friend" is exactly like early Consumer Electronics with some Ramleh drone thrown in for good measure... So this is quite a good noise CD by a (as far as I know) newcomer to the scene. Don't go out on a shooting rampage, hear this instead... Lawrence J. Patti
