Fukte - Giallo a Venezia [Toxic Industries/Irritant Series - 2010]

“Giallo a Venezia” finds Italian Harsh noise and HNW artist's Fukte paying his HNW tribute to the notorious sleazy, bloody and downbeat 1979 Giallo film of the same name directed by Mario Landi. The film was based in Venice; it featured a scissor welding killer, and lots of sex ’n’ violence.

This CDR offers up just under an hours worth of brutal wall making that’s mixed with soundtrack samples from the movie it’s self and takes in: the musical score, dialogue, groans, grunts and screams. In all there are five untilted tracks featured here, and they run between just over the three minute mark to just shy of the nineteen minute  mark a piece.

The first track comes in at just over the fourteen minute mark and starts out with a mixture of the films bright ‘n’ sleazy almost  porn type music mixed with a sample of a women been beaten, then caressed and sexual moaning over the top- this goes on for the first two and a half minutes of the track, then we’re into the ‘wall’ which is of the very rapid and violent judder type, and it has some great screaming and tearing sub-tones mixed in with the main mid-tone judder.

The seven minutes of track two is built around this great ‘n’ nasty monotone caustic road drilling drone meets slow monition judder bound ‘wall’.  Playing under this ‘wall’ and just been heard is this elegant yet sleazy string music and more female sexual moans.

Track three starts off with a violent then passionate embrace between an Italian tongued male and female couple , along with sleazy ‘n’ trashy 70’s porn like harmonic wondering soundtracking. At just over the minute mark a slowly fading in judder ‘n’ jitter noise map builds then a man says “good hey” and the movie samples drop out leaving this great ‘wall’ that’s a mixture of almost groovy ‘n’ throbbing noise texture and judder ‘n’ jitter texturing- this 'wall' stays locked until just after the eight minute mark, when this quite creepy tinkling piano and doomed string sound track swoon appears as the 'wall' fades to the distance, and we get sounds from the movie of a man been shot and attacked then the 'wall' raisers once more  just after the thirteen minute mark. This track is the longest here at just under the nineteen minute mark.

Track four is a mixture of high pitched ‘n’ boiling sustained tonality and controlled hacking noise texture.  This is mixed with tripped-out, hazy and sinister soundtrack music, and what sounds like a women whose been gagged moaning. It’s a great uneasy track that comes in just over the three minute mark.

Lastly we have the final track which comes in just over the thirteen and a half minute mark. The track jumps straight into the ‘wall’ with no elements of the film been present to start with. The ‘walls’ a very thick mixture of raging ‘n’ scouring noise tone, and it nicely envelopes  you in it’s seared and intense storm. Around the seventh minute a sample of a very violent and nasty augment/ fight between a male and female characters appears, but this drops out after a minute or som and the track falls into a mixture of long judder tonality with grainy static hissing....this  'wall' runs to the end of the track.

So all in all “Giallo a Venezia” is a very well put together and thought out mixture of brutal HNW, sleazed often buoyant 70’s porn movie like music and film samples from the nasty, violent and sleazy 1979 movie. So if you dig your wall making with a heft dollop of Giallo influence and samples this is a must have item….surely one of top ten Giallo influenced HNW albums ever made!.
