Hearse Fetish - You Are Always Watched [Self Release - 2012]“You Are Always watched” finds this Mayfield USA based HNW project offering up two flair lengthy slices of drone/ HNW cross breeds. The CDR release comes in a full colour fronted slip sleeve/ plastic envelope, and this features a close-up picture of a birds eye. The two minute tracks on offer here fall between near on the twenty minute & thirty minute mark, and they were both created with a mixture of: snare drums, cymbals, vibrations, mixers, cables, and synth. “Sight of The Crows part 1” is a mixture of throbbing ‘n’ slightly seesawing noise drone that has a layer manically jittering static on top. The track remains fairly fixed through-out, through there are a few subtle sub-tones shifts/ vibrations here & there. The track conjures up a fairly brooding yet agitated vibe. “Sight of The Crows part 1” starts off as a mixture of buzzing electro cable drone & manically jittering ‘n’ shunting noise texturing. Then around the 16 minute mark it drops into a more locked ‘n’ dense collection of juddering/roaring noise textures. This track departs the semi brooding feel of the first track for a more overloaded & all-out attack. The tracks ok, though it does often feel a little one dimensional, & it also overstays it’s welcome at just over the thirty one minute mark. All told this release is a interesting mix of HNW/ drone- I just wish maybe HF had added another element into the second track to make it a bit less one dimensional & more entrancing over it’s running length, but never the less this is worth a look if you enjoy HNW/ drone mixes.
