Boar - Untitled [Nahàsh Atrym Productions - 2013]This untitled C50 tape presents the listener with two twenty three minute slices of brutalizing ‘n’ dense walled noise from Boar- a Iowa based HNW/Harsh noise/ Power electronics project. The tape takes in two untitled tracks- one per side of tape, and side ones ‘wall’ mixes together a bone grinding bass rumble, with chalky ‘n’ churning judder. The bass rumble remains head drillingly focused ‘n’ fixed through-out, while the second element has a slight grainy shifting jittering dustiness to it- though it never really moves far from it’s original structural template. The second sides untitled track brings together a thick drilling ‘n’ roasting churn, with a subterranean slight billowing bass droning under carriage. The thick roasting churn has quite nice sputtering crusty under tones to it, and it’s fairly fixed in it’s feel. The bass drone is extremely fixed, creating this nice oppressively earthy under current to the whole thing. Neither track here is particularly complex or overtly detailed in their structural make-up, yet both tracks are effective & entrancing slices of thick noise intensity- all told this is another consistent release from Boar.
