The Killer Came From The Bronx - Perspective [Bad Rip Series/Ink Runs Recordings - 2013]The Killer Came From The Bronx is yet another new HNW project from hugely talented & of late highly prolific Frenchman Julien Skrobek( Ghost, The Sandman Wears A Mask, Ruine, Butch Bag, Gasp). This project focus in on old school yet moody & homicidal themed walled noise, and “Perspective” is the project debut release. The release comes in form of a CDR, and takes in just one track that comes in at the 29.36 mark. The ‘wall’ is a rather nasty yet brooding mixture of the following elements: a stark & low down rumble, a line of crackling ‘n’ juddering texturing, and a smaller rattling ‘n’ scratching texture- these elements are fed together into a bitter, wintery & moody web of sound. The ‘wall’ remains fairly fixed & set through-out the tracks full runtime. The front cover features a rather stark black & white picture of a NYC above land tube train, and this is most apt for the enclosed track, as it very much conjures up a images of a killer stalking his victim on a midnight train ride in the depths of a New York City winter, as the train rattles along & snow storms/winter winds slow batter away at the train. So if you are after fixed yet moody old school walled noise with a stark & homicidal vibe, “Perspective” is well worth a look. Roger Batty
