Nekro Drunkz - Lavatory Carnage [Moribund - 2015]Oregon filth merchants, Nekro Drunkz, are back with their fourth album, Lavatory Carnage. Once again challenging good taste, Disgustor and Crystal Seth deliver another shot of vile mayhem, sure to tickle your 13 year old fancy. Outside of the comical song titles and subject matter, Nekro Drunkz slam and slay their way forward, and prove that they're more than just lyrical goofballs. Short, sweet, and delightfully vile, Lavatory Carnage consists of 18 tracks of slimy, two-man, death tinged grind. Quick, blasting numbers are still the method of delivery for Nekro Drunkz, as, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Disgustor's low, pummeling drums for the basis for the speedy attack on Lavatory Carnage, and this is added to by Crystal Seth's thick, interesting riffs. The Drunkz continue to keep audiences interested by using a dual vocal approach consisting of Disgustor on the lows and Seth on the scratchy highs. While on the surface, one could gather enough enjoyment from the song titles alone (I haven't stopped laughing at "Asshole Casserole" and "Interred In Turd"), this two piece manages to cram some solidly grinding metal into the genre's traditionally short time frames. Employing less samples than their previous outing, Lavatory Carnage is allowed more opportunity for songs to flow together and form a more coherent album. Hearing riffs change and flow alongside the pummeling drums and vile vocals enhances the experience and hints at a solid future for this act. What could easily be dismissed as a novelty act, Nekro Drunkz' skill with instrumentation and passion for the genre keep them from being marginalized. While not on the level of some of the genre's heavy hitters, Nekro Drunkz still put out fun, engaging material, and Lavatory Carnage shows them at the top of their game Paul Casey
