Anoice - Remmings [Important Records - 2006]Anoice are a original and beautiful mix of post rock, instrumental music and ambience. The songs are constructed with what’s best for the atmosphere, it doesn’t feel the need to build up and explode like a lot of post rock, and it doggedly avoids most of the clichés associated with the genre leaving an album full of lush melodies and cinematic wonder. The key instrument a lot of the time is the piano, which is gracefully placed and technical perfect, around the piano are carefully laid guitar, bass, viola and programming. Making an album that you'll want to return to again and again, and marvel in its alluring and lush charms. A few of my favourites tracks are: Kyoto which is a wonderfully mysteries elegant waltz of a piano and guitar, that bleeds such a beautiful and sad melody. Both edgy and petal like in its charm. Untitled 7 , drifts us into sun lit corn fields moved by slow wind, it truly is a thing of wonder, as melodies, that will raise the sprits high ,are played which such passion and care, not one wrong note, as the inner you sways to the exquisite mix of piano, lightly touched guitar and vola. A true masterwork of passion and commitment to emotional charged music, and one of the most captivating debuts you’ll come across this year or any other. Go here to download a sample track.
