Black Boned Angel - Bliss & Void Inseprable [20 Buck Spin - 2006]Black Boned Angels second full length is a thing of dark wonder, that slips into your mind subtle, then grows into it’s own bizarre and crushing landscape of; chanting evil monks, black whispering ambience bubbling up from the abyss, sinister skeletal keyboard ,tinkling over dieing doomy riff sidings. Simply put one of the great doom/ drone releases of this year- you just need this along with Slomo’s – the creep, then your fixed for all things atmospheric droney, and doomy. Its one hour long track that has a real feeling of morbid religious incarnations or strange other worldly ceremony’s carried out in circles of black and grey ash. cloaked figures moving on down arched walkways, towards wooden structures tangled with bent and bleeding flesh- pierced by steel and tangled by thorns, hands and feet twitching out their last, as the figures surround under the structures blood dripping, then pouring over their upraised faces. This is music to become enveloped by, darkly catacomb by. It cleverly mixes both ambient and doom and creepy textures in a inventive and fresh way that seems to whisper of something untouchable, just behind your stereo speakers, something unexplainable, but deeply captivating never the less. Trust me you need this, it seems like a heady black narcotic, the figure you think you see from the corner of your vision, The tangible and haunting atmosphere is nothing short of immense. Like all great soundcaft it seems made by hands other than human, streached and weeped, burnt and twisted into its lulling chilling audio nightmare. That will send you nearly to a darken slumber, but also wide awake, slipping and sliding down it’s pulsing black veined throat towards the belly of the beast. Don’t delay go buy now, and get ready to be swallowed, slowly but surely. Your time no longer your own, it’s now Black boned angels. For samples and buying direct go here Roger Batty
