Ennio Morricone - Chi L’ha Vista Morire? OST [Fin de Siècle Media - 2006]Chi L’ha Vista Morire? (Who Saw her Die?)is a wonderful lost Morricone Soundtrack that primal uses child choirs to beautiful and often chilling effect. The films a 1972 Aldo Lado Giallo thriller set in and played out around the unsettling filmed Labyrinth streets of Venice. Things start happy and joyful enough, but as the soundtrack progresses Morricone adds it dissonant edges, off key slight of hands. Often too he seems to be echoing and bouncing the Children’s voices around in a very eerier manner- one can imagine them bouncing off tiny side streets, waling like the ghosts of dead children. As the soundtrack progresses, it seems to drift in to a sense mock joy and more melancholy colours. The Children’s choir and voices are backed up by some enchanting Violin work, bouncing drum patterns and eerier organ hums, harpsichord sinister dwellings and grand orchestration power. A Really strange balance between beautiful harmonies and creeping uneasy air. Another classic soundtrack from one of the masters of Soundtrack Art. Brought back into life in a rather dashing digit Pak, featuring a short essay about the film and some stills from the film. To order direct go and hear a sample go here Roger Batty
