Bisclaveret - Psyche nomine [The Eastern Front - 2007]Psyche nomine offers up a collection of slow moving electro beat landscapes weaved with horror soundtrack/dark melodies tinged synth work, minor piano cord atmosphere and mumbled and echoed vocals. Hardly a revelation of an album, but it does slip by darkly enjoyable enough. Bisclaveret managed to paint a nice melancholy creepy almost darkly romantic vibe though out, the tracks following a similar path; ominous basic slowed industrial rhythms, synth creep scapes embossed here and there with some surprise talented and emotive piano flourishers, all toped off with the mumbled and echo altered voices, which are either dark endearing or slight annoying and a little pretension depending on ones mood. On offer are six tracks varying from around the five minute mark to over ten minutes, I feel the shorter tracks seems to work best here, the longer tracks often feel like their milking the idea for too long. Special mention should be giving to the packaging which is a rather nice fold out oversized folder with enlay card, that clearly a lot of work has gone into. A passable enough effort that would go down well with those who enjoy slow moving & creepy industrial music with dark elegance and charm. Roger Batty
