Werewolf Jerusalem/The Rita - Collabration Collection [Enemata Productions - 2008]This sixty minute tape brings together two out of print collaborations and one new exclusive track from this caustic and often wall like or speaker bowing noise force joining of The Rita & Werewolf Jerusalem. Starting things off on the first side of the tape we have two tracks originally release on Swampland. First of these is entitled Choke which is built around a series of harsh and deep sounding drilling tones with a distinct oceanic feel. The best description would be imagine what it might sound like to swim around huge undersea funnel that is forcing out boiling emissions straight into your ears. Next is Torture Libido(Self test) which is built around caustic, static and dense loops that build up in places to some very teeth gritting and eye watering high’s- just don’t have it turned up too loud or it’s likely to pop your ear drums when it kicks into high gear. On to side two first up we have a track originally released on Deadline which is entitled Feast & flesh- it starts off with a low purring yet searing tone which brought to mind the sound of fire travelling across walls and doors. As the track progresses the pair build up some nice hypnotic and circling white static detail giving the feeling your falling slowly down and down a static tunnel, with the track building up in power and strength as it goes along slowly blocking the world around you out with it’s filling in wall of sound. Towards the end it drops into some caustic yet pleasing mike drag over load textures, sounding like it could break your play back unit at anytime. Lastly we have the new & unreleased track entitled Annabelle Loren(named after a character from 50’s Vincent Prince Horror film House On Haunted Hill) which just kicks in straight away with much more force than the other three tracks. It almost takes teeth out with the more powered up and speedy noise burning tone & once more there's some nice molten tone detail shifts with-in the tracks punishing roar. A hour of searing and punishing noise craft that often drifts towards impenetrable wall noise, yet mangers to keep in places some nice subtle and yet fiery shifts with in the noise blackout.
