Bördel Noïr - Elle est morte, elle est pourrie [Slow Death Records - 2011]“Elle est morte, elle est pourrie” (roughly translated to She Died, and she is rotten) is the latest slice of ghoulish yet hypnotic HNW from this mysterious French act. On offer here is a single hour long track of totally unrelenting & brutal Harsh walled noise that has a very dark and macabre feel to it. The track presented here is a thick, crusty and enclosing sonic maelstrom of horror and true blackness. The ‘walls’ built around a mixture of muffled judder, repetitive and intense static ripping ‘n’ shredding, and dusty/sludgy jittering’s. Imagine if you can a huge and archaic rotavator churning over and over masses of stacked and piled dead, decaying and dusty bodies, which stretch out as far as the eye can see under a coffin stone grey sky- well that’s something close to the raging and ghoulish mass of extreme walled noise Bördel Noïr mangers to harnees and feed into your ears and head here. The ‘wall’ remains extremely thick and devastating through-out it’s just over hours run time, with Bördel Noïr shifting and moving the grim and brutal textures ever so often to seemingly pull you in deeper and deeper to the black yet moorish maelstrom of sound, yet it never moves too far from it’s original grim track or textural focus. So in summing up this is another grimly encasing, brutally battering yet highly rewarding slice of walled noise from this great and highly consistent French HNW act, who is certainly one of my favourite acts in both the French and European HNW scenes.
