Immaculate Affection - II [Vagary Records - 2012]“II” is the second release from this Dianna Agron /‘Glee’ themed HNW project. Behind the project is Netherlands based Sven Klippel (of Panic & Horsing), and like the projects first release this comes in the form of C30 tape. The tape cover featured a colour picture Dianna Agron playing the role of Quinn Fabray in American musical comedy-drama television show ‘Glee’, and in the picture used she looks somewhat glum & maybe a little thoughtful. The five copies of the tape that were released sold out a long time ago, so I’m reviewing this via a CDR promo which mergers both of the tapes tracks into one, so as a result I’ll be reviewing this as a single track The track on offer starts off been built around a low-end rolling noise tone, which is run along side this distant yet piecing mid-ranged tone sustain. Around these two tones are several sub-tones which following the rolling pattern of the main noise tone, and these sub-tones go from: deep crustiness to semi jittering ‘n’ scraping static noise. Like the first Immaculate Affection release the ‘walls’ sub-tones subtle shift through-out the tracks run time, but the ‘wall’ still remains fairly fixed in it’s amassed structure. Much like the first tape from this project the ‘wall’ on offer here is well put together & entrancing in it’s feel. But sadly once again there’s nothing really quirky or fun about this, as there should be when this project is themed around musical comedy-drama. Roger Batty
