CJ Borosque - They [Harshnoise - 2006]They is a grating and burning, tone shifting beast of a noise release, Surprisingly coming from a females firey mind, giving prove positive that women can conjure up just tortures and dense take on noise as their male counterparts. The album opens with the title track which starts with high pitches burns and hovering tones, that singed your ears. Before running head first into an almost impenetrable wall of sound, purring down low with bubbling tones, that just seem to loop and loop like a vast wall towering above you, your eyes hurting trying to see it’s top. Towards the middle of the track it drops the wall of sound for some nice mixed pitch rotating tones, seething on the end which high pitched whistles. The sound cracking and buckling. CJ stop for second breaks, before send more thundress waves, gear sound burns towards you. For the rest of the track it alternates between the brutal push and pull of stop -start pitches and wall of noise. All ending with an almost unbearable high pitch loop. Android Flock feels like been inside a large hall, that’s billowing out rolling clouds of painful sound. Before locking into to some really nasty looped pitches, that'll singed your mind. I really like to way the tones are aloud to loop a bit more time to find more odd sound shapes, as the lock against each other- almost linking into a struture ,but just staying in a chaos sate. A nice head bashing release, which will surely satisfy your audio torture needs. Be nice in the future, to she her develop more on the almost structured off centre loop elements. Also some of it does drag in places, repeating the same sound loop with little variation, though there only a few moments were this occurs.
