Whore's Breath - Frigid [Stemms Audio - 2025]

Frigid severs up just under half an hour's worth of thick, churning, and bone-marrow-chilling walled noise. This is a digital self-release from Cincinnati’s Whore’s Breath.

For the cover artwork, we get a monochrome picture of what looks like a close-up of a barren/ possible frost-covered tree. The release can be found here

The single self-titled track comes in at the twenty-seven and forty-second mark. It’s built a constant mid-paced/ slightly murky mid-paced churn/ light callop- this is surrounded by a weave of rush/ lightly chopping static grain, and distant/ muffled billowing. All creating a suitable cold and emotionally numbing ‘wall’.

This is a very plain/ straight take on wall-craft, so don’t expect fancy/ creative textural choices. It just purely churns at you in an unrelenting and unforgiving manner- sendingfreezing bleakness deep into your very center.

Frigid is another consistent/ workmanlike example of walling from Whore Breath. If  you are after truly hopeless, and bleak/ frozen bone-snapping HNW this will do the job.
