Whore's Breath - (Another) Grey Day In The ORV [ - 2024](Another) Grey Day In The ORV is a forty-one-minute walled noise track that sits somewhere between relentless and oddly soothing- blending the muffled industrial, with the weathered. This release from Cincinnati, Ohio's Whore’s Breath appears on Arkansas Communal Deafness Recordings. It appears in the form of a digital-only release- drop by here to listen/ download the release.
The single self-titled track rolls in at the forty-one- and eleven-second mark. It’s built around a mix of faint and muffled industrial churn ‘n’ knock- which is weaved by the sound of lightly buffeting and baying wind tones. The ORV in the tracks title stands for Ohio River Valley- and it certainly brings to mind slowly drifting along on a boat along a river- with the wind light knocking the awnings, and off in the distance/ through the wooden deck you can hear the relentless churn of the engine. The mix of dulled industrial churn & wind-swept sootiness is most compelling- and I could easily have listened to the track for another twenty or thirty minutes or so. Let us hope the project looks further down this sound blend in future releases.
(Another) Grey Day In The ORV is an entrancing mid-ranged wall. I can see it appealing to your normal wall-head, as well as those who enjoy more set field recording work- because at points it really does sound like it was captured on a windy day. Roger Batty
