A.R.GH - Clonazepam [Void Séance - 2011]"Clonazepam" possesses certain qualities describable as progressive elements that constitute an alternative approach to wall making while complying with the genre's philosophy. Each wall is constructed in an unmoving manner however there is an underlying tone of droned ambiance beneath the first track and in the fourth there is a completely electric quality to the popping crackle that resembles a mauled wire sparking viciously. The strength of these tracks relies on the bass like qualities of the static as this powerful attribute is best projected through quality speakers. At first listen I was really impressed by the quality of these tracks and with a ten minute average on these tracks it is short yet satisfying and each texture varies by track so you get a whole range of walls to enjoy. The packaging itself is in the uniform Void Séance Xeroxed artwork on white gatefold cases with a cd tray and screen printed cd-rs. Literature included describes Colanezepam in Spanish which by reading the inserts came to learn that it is a drug for treating anxiety from panic attacks. Interesting theme from this Chilean artist which I will most likely begin to follow as this disc left a lasting impression and I hope to hear more tracks of this caliber.
