Both projects seem to contrate more of guitar and lo-grade rhythmic matters & it’s use through pedals ect,to make their own brand of rough and ready noise, that has more than a glint of humour about it. Small Red Chunks of Tongue by Kylie Minoise opens proceedings- it mixes overload drum machine and smarting and smouldering guitar noise, that picks out some enjoyable higher pitched elements. Buried deep, trying to dig it’s way out are screamed and shouted vocals- it almost feels like someone been buried alive under tones of cerement shorting and screaming against the down pour.Towards the end crowd sound appears, which could well be sampled as it seems to loop on its self. Next we have the two part collaboration of Naked Bathtub Samuri Aktion prt1 & 2. Prt 1 starts with voices feed into peddles, that are then streached and distorted into noisy folds, later on rudimentary guitar playing can clear be made out- as they progress into teenage crusty thrash riffing. Prt 2 starts off again with voice sounds feed in peddles and distortion- but this time it seems more fiery and more dangerous somehow, and more rewarding than the first part, the rudimentary guitar appears once more, but it seems to be managed better and deeper in distortion. Lastly we have the Testuo track Ninjo-Giri, which for me is the highlight here. Nice chaotic and noise percussive matter, with overloaded vocals on top. Even some odd chanted vocal sample is slipped in midway. Though out its 10 minute running time, it’s seems to keeps one attention with the various twists and turns of sound of its lo-fi weird percussive noise freackout. Worth a look for fans of lo-fi noise chaos, though it does sometimes feel a little underdeveloped in it’s sound execution. Sounding a little too much like teenagers messing about in their bedrooms. To buy direct grind down to here Roger Batty
